Extender Lead
A pre-wired cable assembly of varying length with a plug & socket wired at each end allowing items of equipment to be connected as a final circuit. I.E looping between luminaires.
Starter Lead
A pre-wired cable assembly of varying length with a socket at one end and free end on the other.
Spider Lead
A pre-wired cable assembly of varying length with a plug at one end and free end on the other. Usually used to hard wire into a luminaire from a Lighting Control Module (LCM).
Switch Module
A range of pre-wired, pre-assembled connectors housed in a moulded unit to provide inclusion of manual switches and presence detection into the system.
Moulded Tee or Distribution Unit
A range of moulded connectors providing the means of branching off the lighting circuit with latching connectors, with one input and two outputs. Distribution units operate in the same way but with more than one output.
Remote Tee Module
Remote tee modules are designed for the connection of the luminaire into the lighting circuit while allowing the circuit to continue to the next luminaire.
Lighting Control Module
A unit housing pre-wired connectors offering varying degrees of interaction with the connected luminaires, from manual switching, presence detection, dimming and communication.
Metway Connection Centre (MCC)
Connection centres for use with switching or dimming sensors and switches for absence detection. The units are equipped with multiple latching outlets for safe distribution of power and the Dali signal.
Male Connector
The male connector utilises a metal pin as the conductor and is designed to plug into a female connector to receive power or signal. Insulating material is used to prevent touching of live parts, thus preventing electrical shock.
Female Connector
A female connector has split hollow tubes to allow power or signal to pass from the socket to a male plug. Insulating material is used to prevent touching of live parts, thus preventing electrical shock.
